The All Party Group was set up in February 2003 to encourage and facilitate discussion among MPs and Peers from across the political spectrum with an interest in nuclear issues, and to provide a forum for the exchange of information and views between parliamentarians and representatives of the nuclear and energy industries. The group aims to complement the valuable work of the long established Parliamentary Group for Energy Studies which has a wider remit and range of interests.

The administration of the Group is undertaken by the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), organising the Group’s programme of events, arranging speakers, venues, and appropriate visits for the Group.

 

All Party Group response to the Government nuclear consultation

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Nuclear Energy has called on the Government to give the green light to the private sector to build new nuclear power stations should they wish to do so. Submitting its response to the Government's consultation on the future of nuclear power the group says that nuclear is required if the UK is to continue to show leadership on climate change and secure our energy supplies.
